E-Mobility in China: A Path to Climate Protection, Sustainable Transport and Economic Strength

The Chinese car market is the largest in the world and of great importance for the German industry. China seeks the global leadership in the sector of E-mobility and aspires to solve its climate and environmental problems by promoting electric mobility, especially in its megacities.

What are the implications for the German economy? Is E-Mobility a viable solution for transforming the transport system in Chinese megacities towards more sustainability? These are just two of the questions tackled within the paper and results from the Sino-German Cooperation projects on Electro-Mobility on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).
