The Chinese car market is the largest in the world and of great importance for the German industry. China seeks the global leadership in the sector of E-mobility and aspires to solve its climate and environmental problems by promoting electric mobility, especially in its megacities.
What are the implications for the German economy? Is E-Mobility a viable solution for transforming the transport system in Chinese megacities towards more sustainability? These are just two of the questions tackled within the paper and results from the Sino-German Cooperation projects on Electro-Mobility on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).
